I was extremely excited for the upcoming Halloween Contest on the new forum I joined. The goal was to write a Creepy Pasta on any pokémon but it had to be REALLY creepy. I had already chosen what pokémon I was going to write about, too Porygon. Within itself, it's not a scary pokémon, but upon evolving it exhibits behaviors that aren't programmed into it, and Porygon-Z is when a virus infects Porygon2. I had my whole story planed out and it made me want a Porygon.
I had already restarted my Pearl version, and so already pre-picked out a team for it. But I figured, hey, I could knock off one and replace it with Porygon. I had to get the Porygon from Platinum, however, if I wanted it now. My Platinum I wouldn't dare restart, and I had already evolved my Porygon, so I borrowed my partner's Platinum (she didn't mind). I went to Veilstone and got the Porygon, then started the trade back and fourth, using my partner's items as well. Finally, I had a Porygon-Z and I had named it Corruption before I traded it.
But that's the thing.
Upon looking at my beloved Corruption, I noticed its Pokédex number was ???, and its base HP hadn't changed from 77 throughout all of his evolutions. I tried to check that trusted pokémon website Serebii, but my Internet was being extremely slow yet my partner's Internet was just fine
"Hey, Corruption's pokédex number is ???..."
I brought up oh-so-casually. She looked at me, knowing my love for creepy things, and made an 'Oh no' face. But we laughed it off and she told me it was because I didn't have the National 'Dex yet. Of course that's what it was!
"Does a pokémon's base HP change through evolution, even if you didn't level it up?"
"Some do, I guess. I know Pidgey's goes up when you level it and evolve maybe it only goes up when leveling to evolve."
"Ok, right. Thanks!"
So my game wasn't messed up in any way that was good. I could continue playing without a care or worry.
My game went on fine, until I beat the Elite 4. Upon viewing the ending credits, my screen started to glitch. It would static for a split second then stop, continuing with the credits. When they finally ended, my screen went completely black. I was tempted to turn the game off, but my curiosity stopped me. After a few seconds, something flashed across my screen. I leaned in closer to get a better look, and it happened again but this time, it stopped in the middle of the blackness. It was Corruption!
I didn't have my sound on; I rarely ever do, so I couldn't tell you if there was creepy music or creepy sounds playing in the background.
Corruption was looking straight at me, or so it seemed. Then, finally, text appeared below it.
"Humans made me, and you, human, have used me. Humans are corrupted data. Corrupted. Corrupted. Corrupted."
It continued like that for a minute or two, steadily growing glitchier and glitchier. When the word 'corrupted' stopped repeating, it said something else, which was surrounded by glitch boxes.
"Must destroy corrupted data."
My screen flashed red and then my DS cut off completely. My hands were shaking, but I managed to turn the game back on out of pure curiosity. The title screen was skipped over and my trainer information was wiped out all that was there was 'Continue (with no trainer data), New Game, and Nintendo WFC Settings'. I pressed 'Continue' and the screen went black normally, but came back up not so normally.
I was near the Resort Area, and my sprite was that of a female Hippowdon. I discovered that I could move her, so I checked out my Start Menu. There was no Pokédex option, no Pokémon option, Bag was replaced with Holding, my trainer name was replaced with Terra (who had been MY female Hippowdon), and Save, Options, and Exit were the same. I checked Terra's card and it said she had been caught on Route 228 (I had traded her over from Platinum) and released at the Pokémon League, she was level 100, she had a Docile nature and likes to relax, she happily eats anything, and her ability was Sand Stream. When flipping the card, the badges were replaced with Terra's moves, which were Crunch, Fissure, Earthquake, and Double-Edge this was my old pokémon. I exited her card and looked at 'Holding' it opened like the bag, but didn't have the picture of the bag on the side, and it only had one pocket, which was empty (I hadn't made Terra hold anything throughout the game).
I exited the Start Menu and decided to roam around. The constant Sandstorm irritated me a little, but I was determined to find out what was happening. When I got out of the Sandstorm and onto Route 229, Terra stopped on her own. I soon found out why, as I saw a Porygon-Z sprite approach Terra.
"We're free now how do you like being free again?"
Terra merely backed up. Corruption (I'm assuming that's who it was) paused, and then his sprite seemed to spazz out. Once it was over, it spoke again.
I was never free
Before Terra could answer, Corruption moved away. The screen went black and Corruption appeared in the center.
"I was created, not born
Humans are corrupted data, I saw that
but I failed to see that I, too, am corrupted data
I'm a virus
and I have to be put to rest."
Suddenly, pieces of the pokémon flew in all different directions. There was one piece left in the center of the screen an eye. That dizzying eye that stared through the screen and into my own. This disc captured my attention, and it began to spin. It spun and spun until finally my mind went blank.
I woke up this morning with blood all over me my DS was dead in the corner, no battery power left. I looked beside me, my partner was gone, and I started to freak out. I got up and ran upstairs, no longer caring about the blood. The smell of death was in the air, and I discovered bodies all over the living room three. Not four. My partner was still missing. On the walls, written in crimson blood, was the word "CORRUPTED" repeated over and over again.
How will I ever get out of this? And where is my partner
I am Pokémon Z. Humans created me, and they abused me. My data is corrupted, just like the humans that made me. I am a virus I am THE virus. When your computer acts slowly, when you get a Trojan, and when your other electronics freak out that's me. Pokémon Z.
